da Vinci announces the opening of its new state-of-the-art expansion building in Nuremberg
Following an intensive planning and construction phase, we have officially opened our new, cutting-edge facility at our Nuremberg headquarters. In accordance with our company’s guiding principles of tradition, innovation and sustainable action, targeted investments were made to make quality brush production and logistics more efficient, environmentally responsible and future-orientated.
The decision to expand at the existing location was made consciously:
Key factors included the site’s strong public transport connections — especially its proximity to the Gustav-Adolf-Straße subway station (approximately 800 m away) — as well as a firm commitment to manufacturing in Germany. In order to minimize car traffic and transport distances, our management deliberately rejected the idea of relocating production abroad or to lower-cost properties on the outskirts of the city. This new building marks a major milestone in the company’s development, following the completion of the first construction phases back in 1998 and 2006.

Construction began in November 2023 with occupancy starting 18 months later in April 2025.
The expansion increases the total operational space to 10,041.60 m². Built on previously unused brownfield land, the project was realized with a strong focus on sustainable construction and energy-efficient technologies. Supported by partial funding from the State of Bavaria, the overall investment totals around €12 million (excluding building land acquisition costs).

A central feature of the new facility is the use of renewable energy sources: 45 geothermal probes, each 55 meters deep, form the basis of the building’s heating and cooling system. This is complemented by an on-site photovoltaic system for power generation, a green roof and multiple EV charging stations. The technical infrastructure meets the highest construction and energy standards, significantly reducing the company’s environmental footprint.
With this investment, we are not only expanding our production capacity but also strengthening the connection between traditional craftsmanship and modern automated manufacturing. The new building also provides modern working conditions and the flexibility needed to meet future requirements.
